The Eritrean Community in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, denounced US sanctions resolution imposed in the name of Security Council and asserted their readiness to play their due role in the all-round development campaign by standing alongside their people and government.

In a seminar conducted in Riyadh, the Eritrean Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Mr. Mohamed Omer Mahmoud gave participants extensive briefing regarding the objective situation in the Homeland. Indicating that the US has pursued a hostile policy against the Eritrean people since the 1950s, the Ambassador pointed out that there is no proof to justify the sanctions against Eritrea and that it is a smear campaign built on lies.

"Rather than force the TPLF regime to withdraw from the illegally occupied Eritrean territories as per international laws and charters, Washington chose to fabricate a false report and pass a sanctions resolution against Eritrea. In so doing, the US is merely repeating its history of unprovoked hostility against the Eritrean people," Mr. Mohamed added.

The members of Eritrean Community in Riyadh on their part expressed their readiness to enhance their contribution towards the ongoing development campaign.
