ERITREA: US Embassy misrepresents Eritrean Americans
Sofia Tesfamariam, Mar 11, 2010 - 6:43pm
Over the years, we have seen how some misguided individuals and groups (humanitarian NGOs) have abused the magnanimity and hospitality of the Government and people of Eritrea and have engaged in activities designed to weaken Eritrea, undermine its budding institutions, undermine its history, create and manufacture “dissent”, incite student riots, incite “religious conflicts” and more.

Lifestyle and Happiness Reconsidered
Berhane Kahsai, Mar 11, 2010 - 6:01pm
Discussions about lifestyle might have existed for generations or even dating back to the origins of humanity itself. The phrase lifestyle was initially coined by an Austrian psychologist Alfred Adler in 1929, but its current broader usage dates back to the early 1960s. For the sake of clarifying the message that I want to communicate through this article, I define lifestyle as something that typically reflects an individual’s, group’s or nation’s attitudes, values and worldviews; and happiness as characteristic of enjoyment and gratification with what one can afford to have in life.

ETHIOPIA- Minority regime with blood on its hands permitted the privilege of having US lobbyists on retainer
Sophia Tesfamariam, Feb 10, 2010 - 5:28pm
In October of 2007, the Washington Post noted that Obama had “fulminated against ‘lobbyists’ and ‘insiders,’ and claimed that (he) will end ‘business as usual’ in Washington if elected president.” Obama said at a 1 October 2008 campaign stop in Wisconsin, "You need leadership you can trust to work for you, not for the special interests who have had their thumb on the scale. And together, we will tell Washington, and their lobbyists, that their days of setting the agenda are over. They have not funded my campaign. You have. They will not run my White House. You'll help me run my White House."

Improving Quality of Life through Equitable Wealth Distribution: Eritrea’s Development Policy
Bereket Tewolde, Feb 3, 2010 - 6:02pm
Before the onset of the current meltdown in the world economy, Africa was believed to have scored encouraging GDP growth compared to the previous decade. In spite of this, however, we often see a deep-rooted poverty, probably more than anytime before. This scenario attests to the fact that economic growth per se cannot guarantee human welfare.

“The only way out of a problem is through it”
Ghebretnsae Damr, Feb 3, 2010 - 5:49pm
One of the most noticeable and negatively destructive achievements of socio-cultural development and organizational transformation of societies has been the culturally solidified and often accepted myth alleging that men and women are not equal. Ever since humans started to live as an organized group with specific tasks, the categorization of roles to group members was introduced. As such men were on the one hand supposed to go and bring a hunt and women assumed the role of child bearing and raring on the other.
