National Liberation Front (ONLF) Routs Ethiopian Occupation Troops The Ogaden National Liberation Front (ONLF) in military operations conducted against Ethiopian occupation troops during the month of June 2002 killed 97 enemy soldiers and wounded over 50 others. These operations took place in and around the towns of Farmadow, Dhabiile, Meer Hagaf, Qaylo Dhoore and Gururmo, all in Ogaden. During these operations the ONLF destroyed a total of 4 armored vehicles and captured 2 others. Over 47 AK-47 rifles were also captured along with hundreds of rounds of ammunition. A total of 68 Ethiopian occupation troops stationed in Ogaden have fled their units seeking refuge in neighboring Somalia. These military operations on the part of the ONLF were in direct retaliation against the forced detention of hundreds of Ogaden civilians in and around the cities of Degah Buur and Godey during the month of May 2002.
